APCC Response to Judicial Review Judgement

09/06/2017

Commenting on today’s High Court judgement, Julia Mulligan, Police and Crime Commissioner for North Yorkshire and national lead for Integrity and Transparency, said:

“The Association of Police and Crime Commissioners note today’s judgement. In representing the public they serve, and as part of their obligation to hold chief constables to account, Police and Crime Commissioners are charged with the power under section 38 of the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act to appoint, suspend and, in some cases, remove chief constables.

“We will study the judgement in detail and the potential implications for our members.”
