Manchester Terrorist Attack – APCC Chair Update

24/05/2017

APCC Chair Dame Vera Baird QC said:

“Following on from the appalling attack in Manchester, Police and Crime Commissioners have been in close contact with their Chief Constables in order to establish what the implications are locally, primarily in terms of resources and support.

“The increase in the threat level and the implementation of Operation Temperer will have an impact on policing up and down the country and PCCs will be working with chief constables so that the public can confidently go about their business secure in the knowledge everything possible is being done to ensure that they are protected.

“Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the attack and, once again, on behalf of the APCC, I want to thank all the emergency services personnel who have acted with the utmost bravery and professionalism throughout.”
