New Chief Executive of the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners appointed

Tracey Bleakley has been appointed the new Chief Executive of the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners (APCC) and will join the organisation in September.

Tracey is currently the Chief Executive of the Personal Finance Education Group following three years as UK Director of MEND, a social enterprise running family community-based programmes to tackle obesity. She started her career as an Engineering Management trainee for British Rail, followed by a thirteen year career in management consultancy with Price Waterhouse, Accenture and ITV. Tracey has a mechanical and electrical engineering degree, an MBA, and postgraduate qualifications in International and Social Policy. Tracey is a trustee for the Money Advice Trust, and for humanitarian charity RedR.

Nick Alston, Chairman of the APCC and Police and Crime Commissioner for Essex, said:

Tracey has the skills, experience and drive to lead the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners as it grows in its role to support Police and Crime Commissioners and help them become the most influential voices in the governance of our police forces in England and Wales.”

Tracey Bleakley, commenting on her appointment as the new APCC Chief Executive, said:

“I am thrilled to be joining the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners. This is an exciting time to be involved in policing and I look forward to the challenge.”
