West Mercia
John Campion was re-elected as the Police and Crime Commissioner for West Mercia on 03 May 2024. This marks John’s third term as PCC.
As well as the role of PCC, John is also the chair of several boards within West Mercia, including the Local Criminal Justice Board, Victims Board, Out of Court Disposal/Resolutions Scrutiny Panel and he is the Senior Responsible Officer for the local Combatting Drugs Partnerships.
Playing an active role within the APCC, John is also the Joint Lead for the Portfolio Group on Equality and Diversity.
All of these roles are a direct commitment by John to deliver on his Safer West Mercia Plan to ensure the public’s priorities are heard and acted upon.
John held several roles within local politics before he was first elected as PCC for West Mercia in 2016.
In 2004, John was elected as a Wyre Forest District Councillor, and from 2007, he served as the authority’s leader for seven years.
John was also elected as a Worcestershire County Councillor in 2005 and has held many roles within the County Council. He has worked in private business, as well as in the High Security Prison system as an intelligence officer.
