APCC Workforce Lead responds to latest workforce statistics

Responding to today’s police workforce statistics, Ron Hogg, APCC Workforce Lead, said:
“Today’s police figures again show a further reduction of police officer numbers – down to the lowest number since comparable records began in 1996. This, coupled with the further reductions in Police Community Support Officers and Special Constables, is having an impact on the way we are able to police our communities.
“Precept flexibility has made an extra £260 million available nationally this year. Nevertheless, many Forces continue to face difficult choices about priorities.”
