NPCC & College of Policing report on Police Misconduct
“We welcome the publication of the National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC) and College of Policing's report on Police Misconduct. It sets out the steps policing should take to address the issues identified in the review. PCCs will work with their Chief Constables and the NPCC to scrutinise how forces implement the next steps and ensure policing is dealing effectively with misconduct and police perpetrated abuse.
“We must ensure that we rebuild trust and confidence across policing, through implementing the steps in this report. Policing must be open and transparent in working with the public and in setting out their plans for improvement. We therefore support the publication of this document and look forward to the publication of the updating baseline report which will give us a look at the data on VAWG coming out of forces, including around misconduct.”
