Police Staff Council pay award update

05/10/2017

A Police Staff Council (PSC) working party met on Friday 29 September to consider the 2017/8 pay award. The PSC trade unions have lodged a pay claim for 5%.

The Employers’ Side of the PSC decided not to make a pay offer at the meeting on the basis the police service is still considering the financial implications of the police officer pay award and discussions around funding are still taking place.

Ron Hogg, Durham PCVC and PSC Employers’ Side Chair, said:

“We welcome the constructive discussions on pay that have taken place with trade union colleagues to date. We are committed to working together to ensure an outcome to the 2017 pay negotiations that is acceptable to all parties concerned and goes some way to rewarding the significant contribution that all police staff make to the service we deliver to our communities.”
