APCC Chair, Dame Vera Baird QC said:
“Police and Crime Commissioners have been aware of the issues relating to toxicology testing with Randox Testing Services since they came to light earlier this year.
“Public confidence in the integrity of forensic science is of paramount importance and it is clearly a matter of significant concern that in excess of 6,000 samples are affected. I am sure that PCCs will continue to liaise with their Chief Constables to establish the impact on these developments on their force areas.”
