Fraud is currently the most prevalent crime committed in England and Wales.  The APCC works collaboratively with partners including the National Police Chief’s Council, the City of London Police, Home Office, Serious Fraud Office and Ofcom to ensure PCCs have an influence on national policy areas for fraud.

Our key deliverables:

The APCC ensures that its members are kept up to date with key information and provides support across a range of workstreams focused on four key deliverables:

  • Influencing national policy – representing PCCs at meetings with stakeholders such as the Home Office, Serious Fraud Office on policy related to fraud prevention, online safety and strategic direction
  • Increasing public confidence – raising awareness of fraud and cybercrime, aiming to tackle stereotypes and stigmas that are mistakenly associated with these crimes, encouraging victims to come forward and seek support
  • Providing a voice for the public – supporting PCCs to provide a voice for the public on the issues of fraud and cybercrime within their communities and on a national level
  • Bringing partners together – convening partners on the local level to set strategic direction for tackling criminal justice and policing issues in PCC’s force areas, as well as ensuring PCCs have influence at a national level
