APCC Chair statement following the attack in Westminster
Following the attack in Westminster, APCC Chair Dame Vera Baird QC said:
“Following the terrible attack in Westminster our thoughts are with the friends and families of those that have been affected.
“In particular I want to pay tribute to PC Keith Palmer who was tragically killed when on duty protecting others in Parliament.
“Our Police force, indeed all our emergency services, are the best in the world and acted with exemplary professionalism. We want to thank them all for their bravery and courage in acting so swiftly to protect the public. These are qualities that they show every single day. They are a huge credit to us all.
“We must not give in to fear or to the hatred that terrorists seek to spread or lose hold of the ties which bind our communities, rather, it is at moments like this, that we must come together.”
