APCC Finance Lead response to 2018 Budget

Responding to today’s Budget, APCC Finance Lead, Roger Hirst PFCC said:
“Whilst there has been no announcement of police funding in the Budget today, the Chancellor has recognised the pressure on the service and the Home Secretary will review ahead of the draft Police Funding Settlement before the end of the year.
“The additional funds for counter terrorism is to be welcomed, but PCCs will want to ensure that there is sufficient funding in place to provide the local policing support necessary to ensure that our communities are protected.”
Mr Hirst added:
“We know the public want to see more investment and support for policing services and we continue to work with the Home Office to resolve the employer pension contributions issue.”
