APCC Workforce Lead, comments on the Police Federation's survey
Ron Hogg, APCC Workforce Lead, comments on the Police Federation’s Demand, Capacity and Welfare Survey:
Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs) have the highest regard for the work of police officers and their massive contribution to keeping our communities safe.
Many PCCS, in consultation with local people, have agreed plans to recruit more police officers to help deal with demand.
We recognise how demanding the role of a police officer is, and the requirement for high levels of personal resilience. And so, we welcome the work currently being undertaken, both locally and nationally, to take forward the well-being agenda in policing and provide officers with the support they need.
PCCs will continue to hold chief constables to account for the well-being of the Police Workforce and continue to work with staff associations locally and nationally to address the concerns of the front line.
