APCC/LGA joint VAWG Transformation Event

Far too many women and girls are still victims of domestic and sexual violence.

Crimes against women and girls continue to make up a fifth of the Crown Prosecution Service’s case load and the latest Femicide Census showed that during 2017, 139 women in the UK died as a result of male violence. So it is more important than ever that PCCs (Police and Crime Commissioners), local authorities and other partners work together to help end violence against women and girls (VAWG).

The recent joint APCC/LGA (Local Government Association) was a great opportunity for PCC offices, local authorities and service providers to come together to highlight the innovative projects currently being undertaken by PCCs and local authorities funded by the Home Office’s VAWG Transformation Fund, that are making a real difference to the lives of women and girls affected by violence.
